Parilio

Paros Island, Greece

Why it made our list:  Cycladic, calm and beautifully run, from the terracotta in the lobby to the cross-shaped pool, Parilio is precise about every detail and you’ll notice the minute you walk through the door.

At a Glance

Parilio is a retreat on the north-eastern coast of Paros, in classic Cycladic style, with arches, thick masonry and a soft, natural palette. The lobby has earthy terracotta tiles and a beautiful scent, the team is clearly well trained, and the calm is noticeable from the moment of arrival. The location suits guests who want to stay just outside Naoussa, a short drive from the town and a few minutes from good beaches and beach clubs.

Every suite has its own terrace and a marble bathroom, but the cross-shaped pool is where the day tends to settle, large enough to stay unhurried, with cocktails from the Circe bar as it softens into evening. Across the road, a newer wing of suites and villas has the full services of the hotel, which makes Parilio as well suited to a group taking a villa as to a couple.

Our Take: A calm, design-led retreat just outside Naoussa, with villas for larger groups and the beaches a short drive away.
