Xeonodoheio Milos

Athens, Greece

Why it Made our ListIt’s one of our clients’ favourites for Athens.  Tucked into a quiet pocket of the city, it exudes an atmosphere that lets you breathe: boutique in size, generous in feel, and of course, a world-renowned restaurant to come home to.

At a Glance

19th-century neoclassical building on Kolokotroni Street, opposite the Old Parliament House. The lobby is understated, almost deliberately so. Upstairs, the rooms do the talking: ceilings so high they make even the smaller categories feel generous, marble bathrooms, wooden floors, and a calm that has no business existing two minutes from Syntagma. You slow down here without noticing you’ve done it.

The spa is compact but well judged (Elemis products, a steam room, Pilates and yoga on the rooftop). Estiatorio Milos operates downstairs, but hotel and restaurant feel like two distinct things that happen to share an address. The hotel holds its own with a modern yet cosy and considered design, along with a team that gets the tone right: attentive without hovering, warm without performing.

Our Take: The understated alternative to the grand hotel experience. Serious food, considered rooms, and a central location that somehow stays quiet.

Rooms We Love

Executive Suite

More space to settle into, with a separate living area and the same considered design. Worth the step up if you’re staying more than a night or two

Milos Signature Sutie

Arguably the nicest room in the hotel: 85 sqm with a separate bedroom behind a sliding door, a proper dining area, and space for four.

Dining

Estiatorio Milos Mediterranean seafood led by Chef Costas Spiliadis, the Athens homecoming of a restaurant brand with outposts in New York, Miami, London and beyond. Simple preparation, exceptional ingredients. Breakfast is excellent and included.

Breakfast: 7:00–11:00 Dinner: served evenings (last order 23:00)

Milos Bar Wines, cocktails and lighter fare. A good spot before or after dinner.
