Ace Hotel & Swim Club

Athens Riviera, Greece

Why it Made our List: The Ace brand, transplanted to the Athenian Riviera and entirely at home.  Cool without trying, it’s close enough to Glyfada that you’ll actually leave the pool.  Eventually.

At a Glance

Ace Hotel Athens takes over a 1975 Riviera landmark and makes it feel effortlessly current. French studio Ciguë led the revival, keeping the cantilevered balconies and ’70s coastal charm while filling the interiors with contemporary Greek art, custom furnishings and that signature Ace energy. It’s a good-looking hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

The pool is the centre of gravity. Part hotel pool, part swim club with a local membership, it draws a crowd that keeps things interesting. In summer the energy picks up, with DJs and events adding to the scene. It’s social without being overwhelming.

The crowd skews young and creative, but it’s not exclusive about it. Families are comfortable here, couples too. Glyfada’s best shops, bars and restaurants are a short walk away, and the beach is right there.

Our Take: This is the one if you want somewhere that feels alive and effortlessly cool. Social, well designed, and walking to Glyfada’s best stretch.

Two double beds, a rarity in Athens. Great for families or friends travelling together.
