Olivar Suites
Why it made our list: A converted olive mill on its own beach, with the ancient grove still intact. Boutique Resort on Corfu, done right. No notes.

At a Glance
The Olivar Suites sits inside a 300-year-old olive grove on Messonghi Beach, on Corfu’s quieter south-east coast. The original 18th-century mill building is still standing and now houses Olibar, the hotel’s all-day bar. Around it, low-rise bungalows spread through the trees in muted tones and natural materials. Stone, wood, earthy colours, big windows. The architecture stays low on purpose.
One hundred of the 120 suites come with a private pool, each enclosed by traditional Corfiot stone walls with its own covered outdoor dining area. That is not a perk at The Olivar, it is the standard. The remaining 20 are first-floor suites without pools, nine of which have unobstructed sea views. It is surprisingly private for a hotel this size. The beach is right there, 200 metres of sand with sunbeds, towels, and service from the bar. A large shared pool sits between the beach and the restaurant for anyone who wants company. Nobody rushes here, least of all the staff. Yoga and Pilates in the mornings, olive oil spa treatments in the afternoon, and by evening, live jazz drifting from the old mill. It doesn’t take long to fall into that rhythm.
The Filita Gist: A proper beachfront resort on Corfu’s calm south-east coast. Private pools, a sandy beach, solid food, and the kind of quiet that works for families and couples alike.
