Luura Cliff

Paros Island, Greece

Why it made our list: Paros has been the island everyone talks about lately, but with few luxury hotels to show for it, so an elegant, artsy arrival on a cliff just south of Parikia is exactly what it’s been waiting for.  It’s giving sunset, design & art, without trying too hard.

At a Glance

Luura sits on a cliff above Agia Irini on the west coast of Paros, with sandy tones, whitewashed Cycladic lines and warm wood that feel more elevated than a typical boutique hotel and more relaxed than a grand one. Most suites look over the Aegean towards Antiparos, and the sun sets straight into it. The location suits those who want distance from the bustle of Naoussa port but a more central base, with easy access to the south side of the island and to Pounda for the crossing to Antiparos.

Art is integral to the hotel’s identity and not an addition to it, with sculptures across the grounds and works in every suite from the owners’ private collection, alongside vases commissioned for the hotel and available to buy. The attention to detail runs to local products in the suite, a complimentary pantry and minibar (alcohol aside), light switches labelled with icons and a separate switch to light each artwork.

The mood is cool and calm by day and fun on certain nights, and the layout is spread out enough to find privacy when wanted. The staff are remarkably kind and service-minded. The central pool has no sea view, by design: it sits behind the walls of the suites, sheltered from the summer winds. Guests must be 16 or over.

Our Take: An art-led clifftop base for couples and friends travelling as adults, best in a sea-view suite with a private pool.

Sorry, your pets will have to stay home

  • Unless guests plan to spend little time in their suite, we recommend a Cliff Suite or above, for the sea view.
  • The hotel is not on a beach: Agia Irini is the nearest, and while it can be reached on foot, the walk back is uphill, so most guests will need a car or transfer
  • Due to its location a car or a driver is necessary, and in summer there is traffic at the junctions around Parikia.
  • The mood shifts with the hour, calm at breakfast and by the pool, and livelier at dinner in Lenea.
  • The buildings step down the hillside, so guests with limited mobility should tell us when booking.
  • The hotel opened in August 2026 and 2027 is its first full season.
